Great shot. I guess the '3' is for third class, which still seem to be above cattle class. Then first and second must be extravagant.
Frank L Croston.: Correct, Louis. Oh yes, back then there was a marked difference.
There's not much better than seeing Gresley teak carriages, when I was a youngster most of the trains I rode on used this sort of stock until the Mark 1's came along.
