A fabulous image Frank
Frank L Croston.: Of a fabulous day Chris, thank you.
The snow with a the sun like that is almost always blindingly beautiful, Frank. It makes the black silhouettes even more dramatic.
Frank L Croston.: Indeed, Ginnie. Thank you.

What a day - and what a wonderful mountainscape - I have the feel to be in our Alps. When was this winter?
Frank L Croston.: Thank you Philine, it was a good few years ago, March 2010.....

"On top of the world", Frank. These are the places to be every once in a while and I can understand why you wanted to stay up there. What a perfect day.
Frank L Croston.: It was the best of days Astrid, one didn't get many like this.

No-one is skiing - to my untrained eye it looks like a good slope. Hot head and cold feet can happen in this weather.
Frank L Croston.: You don't see many skiers up here, more North there is a ski tow, the only one in the Lakes.
I didn't realise the Lake District mountains could look quite so magnificent at the top in winter, thanks for posting this Frank.
Frank L Croston.: They can be like the Alps Brian, its great to be up on them in weather like this. My pleasure, I have more to come. smile
One path for coming, one for leaving? Very nice shot of real British snow.
Frank L Croston.: The path, or footsteps to the right is the way that I came up, the so called 'tourist route', ha! The other footsteps lead to the next summit, there are quite a few ways up/down on Helvellyn.
Now this is something special Frank
Frank L Croston.: Thank you Martin, it was a special day...One to remember.
it's a great shot of the silhouettes in the snow Frank... i usually fry a few pixels on my cameras trying to capture a sun flare....petersmile
Frank L Croston.: I was seeing yellow blobs for a while...smileThanks Peter.
A wonderful image, Frank.........I assumed this was in the Rockies! smile
Frank L Croston.: Thank you Martin. Yes, the Cumbrian Rockies ! smile
Glorious image, Frank.
