Monsoon afternoon

This is the view most afternoons from our bedroom window, the wildfire is behind and underneath this cloud.

Its probably causing its own weather system. Unfortunately its not giving us much rain, just an odd shower.

NEWSFLASH...Today we got some proper rain !

i love that billowing, milky white cloud, Frank.
Frank L Croston.: Spectacular to see Ayush. Thanks.
Joli nuage bien épais.
Frank L Croston.: That it is Martine.
Wow, Frank! You did a great job on this capture!! It is amazing how that fire seemed to create the heat needed for these cumulus. Thank goodness for the rain, eh?! Finally!
Frank L Croston.: You know I don't get as excited about the rain as' Flagstaffians 'smile ( I am from Manchester remember ) Thanks all the same.

What a superb cloud!
Frank L Croston.: A proper cloud Ray !
Ayush's "billowing" is the perfect word for this cloud, Frank. The thought of a wildfire behind and underneath it, however, "dampens" the beauty of it. Maybe that's why you finally got a proper rain?!
Frank L Croston.: Whatever brought the rain wasn't as impressive as this Ginnie, whatever though, we were glad of it.

Now "that" is a cloud, Frank. That might be a great study to find out if the weather changes after big fires like that. Look what is happening right now in Siberia/Greenland/Alaska.
Good for the rain that fell though)
Frank L Croston.: It was a big one, I know fires create their own weather but I don't know what happens afterwards Astrid. Its an interesting thought.

Crikey! I'm sure you're right about the micro weather system. It has produced amazing clouds. I hope that the rain helps with the fire fighting.
Frank L Croston.: I'm sure it will Alan, then we can worry about flooding....Which I read is bad in Northern England.

Good news about the rain Frank. I do love billowing white cloud.
Frank L Croston.: Thanks Andrew, it rained most of the night.
Good news about the rain. Hopefully you will get lots and it will put the last of the fires out
Frank L Croston.: Well it rained all night and there is a good chance of more today which must help.
Amazing clouds aren't they. We are having plenty of rain here once again, after last weeks temperatures, there's some pictures here https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7304505/UK-weather-rain-continues-40mm-two-hours-Met-Office-warnings.html of what happened in Swaledale yesterday.
Frank L Croston.: Great to see. I was just reading of the rain and flooding in the North of England Brian, not good, it seems to be all or nothing nowadays.
That is one monster of a cloud, Frank. Love how you've captured the highlighted areas.
Frank L Croston.: It was a big one Beverley...Thank you.

what for gorgeous clouds! I didn't know that there is also Monsoon in Arizona.
Frank L Croston.: Isn't it just... Monsoon season ( If I have it right) is June to September here, though its late arriving this year, most afternoons we get rain showers Philine.
That looks explosive! Great in B&W, Frank smile
Frank L Croston.: Thanks Martin, it did ! I preferred it to the colour version.
A beautiful, cloudscape, Frank! I recorded the sound of our last rain and looked at the date today - the 14th. We so badly need rain!
Frank L Croston.: We finally got some last night with more promised. Hope you get some soon, Meanwhile, back in the U.K. they have flooding!
