The layers of the mountains disappearing off into the haze makes this for me.
Frank L Croston.: I really like the effect, we were lucky to find a spot to get the shot Alan. Thanks.
The cactus on the right is the stereotype for all cacti you see in cartoons
Frank L Croston.: Yes, we had just passed a Road runner with a wily Coyote chasing it, Bill. smile

The light aids this picture in so many ways. I like the layering, with the cactus 'fingers' in the foreground.
Frank L Croston.: We were lucky to find a spot where I could capture the view, just a winding narrow mountain road with few pull offs. Thanks Louis.
The 'fall off' through the picutre is really good and helps give a great sense of depth.
Frank L Croston.: Thanks Brian, Ido like aerial perspective.

I love the almost cut out effect you have achieved with the mountains.
Frank L Croston.: Thanks Anne, the effect was really prominent, I do like seeing that.
Right out of a Hollywood western, Frank. I can just imagine cowboys on horses galloping across this magnificent landscape.
Frank L Croston.: It is Beverley, a great place.
Looks like a place where one could easily get lost!
Frank L Croston.: Indeed Tom, it has a reputation for it, 4 or 5 hikers die every year here.
wonderful composition Frank... the foot hills with the cactus are is nice and crisp... the layers of the mountain peaks look like they had been painted on the horizon....petersmile
Frank L Croston.: Thank you Peter, it was a great view to see.
