Series beauty here, and I like the path leading the eyes to it.
Frank L Croston.: It was a misty morning so not as clear as I would have liked Ray, but it is a great place .
The cliffs as you see them here, carry on alongside the road for about 27 miles.
Great shot, Frank - You can "feel" how imposing these are. It's often difficult to show their 3,000 foot height - but this comes as close as I've seen!
Frank L Croston.: Thank you Elizabeth, you don't realise their height 'til you start to climb them, as we know smile
c'est grandiose !
Frank L Croston.: Very much so Martine.

What a whole range of beautiful muted colour here, Frank
Frank L Croston.: Muted in this shot Elisabeth due to the weather, in sunshine the are much more vibrant.

The telephone line is set back quite a way from the road.
Frank L Croston.: Probably to avoid people driving into them I suspect, Andrew.
Impressionnant et imposant !!
Frank L Croston.: They are, very much so Claudine.

I always think of the early explorers when I see such scenery as this. Trying to find a route through on horseback and then deciding if it was big enough for the wagons later on. I drove through a dust storm along this road; all rather alarming for a for a while.
Frank L Croston.: Something that crosses my mind in a few places Alan, they must have been very hardy back then. We had a snowstorm....smile

What an impressive rockscape!
Frank L Croston.: That it is, Philine .
That is impressive Frank
Frank L Croston.: Very much so Bill, thanks.
They are totally overwhelming, you must have been impressed the first time you saw them.
Frank L Croston.: Every time we visit, which is a few now, I'm impressed Brian.A magnificent landscape.
So many textures with the hard hills, the soft hills, the gravel and the soft, roadside grasses. Very nice.
Frank L Croston.: Many indeed, Mary. Thank you.

Gorgeous layering
Frank L Croston.: Thank you Anne.
just as well that there is not much traffic since this scenery is a might distraction!
Frank L Croston.: Indeed it is Ayush, the road is not wide either, you do not want to be wandering over....:-(
The ribbon of a road winding pass those magnificent rock formations. Such a rugged landscape to appreciate, Frank.
Frank L Croston.: Rugged indeed Beverley, difficult to find words to describe it.
