A piece of history

A tribute to the original route 66 in Arizona....

We'll be passing this on our way to Santa fe for a couple of days today, so any replies and comments may be late.Newsflash! We are not going now due to a threat of a snowstorm in Flagstaff and we were worried that we wouldnt make it back.

This is a fantastic photo, Mr. Croston! I love the low angle, the rustic tones - and that magnificent sky!

A wonderful image indeed Frank.
Get out there with your camera if it snows!
Frank L Croston.: Thank you, Chris...Oh don't worry!
I envy you having subjects like this!
Frank L Croston.: I love finding them,I come across so many like this, Bill, the other day I got offered a '51 Pontiac with only 69000 miles on the clock.
Is this placed on the old highway? The word snow has been used here too but we are getting mostly rain and wind.
Frank L Croston.: Yes it is, Mary, the new road is just beyond the pole, we've got some snow, but expect a lot more tonight.
Excellent image by the way.
Frank L Croston.: Thank you, Mary.
Terrific shot Frank, much the better for the low viewpoint. Shame about your trip but it sounds like common sense has come into play.
Frank L Croston.: Thank you, Brian, sometimes it does smile
Pity about that - but I guess that at this time of year you can expect it!
Frank L Croston.: It was a shame, Tom, we have got away with it so far, so can't complain.
Good fined matey,A bit of snow and you stop at home, this wouldn't happen in Thornton.
Frank L Croston.: Ha, ha...I know, I've become a wimp...smile
Happy birthday, Frank!
Frank L Croston.: ?? I think you must have confused me with my son, your namesake Tom....Its his birthday today, but thanks anyway!
