They're looking a bit wind battered! I love the silhouettes and the amazing sky!
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Elizabeth, they do a bit, yes.

"Stoic" seems to be the word that comes to mind first, Frank.
Frank L Croston.: That's what you need to be here, Ray...

Very nice, they could be Scots Pines..
Frank L Croston.: If they wanted to be, Chris...
These trees look as if they are the survivors of what might have been a forest Frank.
Frank L Croston.: It's post apocalyptic Lancashire, Andrew...
The clouds look to be about to smother all below.
Frank L Croston.: Just another summer day in England, Mary...

Quite an atmosphere. It just need one good hanging tree - I just remembered from some cowboy movie, someone referred to such a day with low cloud as a good day for a hanging.

Brrr - should think about different stuff, like it is a good day to stay in bed with a good book.
Frank L Croston.: Cheer up Louis...You are worrying me...smile
They appear to be just about hanging on, they make a fine subject.
Frank L Croston.: Got to be tough to live there, Martin, thanks, I thought so, had to stop and walk back up the hill to take this shot.
Fine shot Frank in an area I'm not at all familiar with.
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Brian, a lovely area, very hilly and bleak.

Lovely silhouettes of the rather windswept trees
Frank L Croston.: Thank you, Anne.
A nice touch of bleakness Frank
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Bill, bleakness can be good...smile
Those are certainly weathered pines!
Frank L Croston.: They are very exposed, Tom.
