Those footprints look extraordinarily large from that angle, Frank. (And Elizabeth has such tiny feet)
Frank L Croston.: The sand is so fine, Elisabeth it just gets pushed away as you climb up the dunes, by the time you were reaching the top it was very hard work...smile

In SA, we also have a conservation area, going by the name of White Sands. Our White Sands also goes by the alternative name of Roaring Sands. When conditions are right, which it often is, the sand will roar, when you walk on it. Basically friction of the sand crystals, down below where the person is walking. You can also feel the friction with your feet, which is a strange feeling.

The converging tracks makes for a great shot and so does the other subject of note.
Frank L Croston.: That must be quite an experience, Louis, all you could hear here was the heavy breathing of me trying to keep up! Thanks.
Lol at Tiff Frank, I know what he means.
Frank L Croston.: It is good that someone does, Andrew...smile
It is hard to believe that sand could be as white as snow. It even has blue shadows. Incredible!!!
Frank L Croston.: It is an amazing place, Mary.
Another fine shot, I like the ripples. That lady seems to be getting in all your pictures these days, is she following you about?
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Brian. I wish she was...:-(
great shot, Frank! the ripples are a nice counterpoint to the smooth,c lear sky
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Ayush, a photogenic place!

It looks a bit like snow. I bet that was hard work in climbing that.
Frank L Croston.: It is the same, Alan, and yes near the top it was!
Like a giant mound of icing sugar....the sand I am referring to...
Frank L Croston.: Watchit, pal....smile
They got the name right!
Frank L Croston.: I don't think there was a lot of choice, Tom...smile
Looks a good place for a visit .
Frank L Croston.: Oh it is, Michael, good fun.
i love it Frank... the sands look very much like our snow after a strong north wind... Elizabeth seems to be having fun....petersmile
Frank L Croston.: I could have said it was snow, and no one would know, Peter. smile We both had fun in this place.
