Good ol' boys..

As I'm back in the U.K. now, I Thought I'd post some memories of my past six months in America

First off, people....I met some of the nicest, kindest , most polite and generous people .

What a fine collection of wet cowpokes, Frank.
Frank L Croston.: A grand bunch, Ray...Not wild at all...smile

Great image in b&w
Frank L Croston.: Thanks very much, Hollie.
LOVE this one, Frank! You captured their character... tough and fun loving! We do have some good friends on both sides of the pond, don't we?! smile
Frank L Croston.: Glad you like it Elizabeth, yes we do indeed. smile

It is great to hear that you have been so well-accepted, Frank, but I can understand this
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Elisabeth, as you know, I even married one of them...Not one of them in the photo you understand...smile
Great capture of this happy bunch of fellows Frank!
Frank L Croston.: Thank you very much, Richard. A great bunch they were.

It's a pity we don't live closer to each other Frank, I would have loved to have talked to you about your impressions of the place as an Englishman. A great image BTW
Frank L Croston.: Thank you, Chris, well maybe we will meet up later this year, of course I am slightly biased now...smile

It speaks of camaraderie - great picture.
Frank L Croston.: Lots of it, Louis, thank you.
And then you went to Poulton.
Frank L Croston.: Don't talk about it, I'm still grieving....
Would you in your wildest dreams, watching American cowboy movies from the 50's and 60's, think you were going to be playing with them in the next century?
Frank L Croston.: Errr, no.

What a great picture - I really like the B&W treatment
Frank L Croston.: Thank you, Anne, this was in a freezing thunderstorm, you want to see them when the sunshines! smile

It's so refreshing that most Amerciancs are exactlya s you describe. "Sir" and "Mam" are very commonplace titles; so very different to the UK. I like the detail you ahev capyured here.
Frank L Croston.: Thank you, Alan, having been back here only a week...What a difference in peoples attitude, sad really.
They look a companionable bunch. I have only met a few Americans but all the ones I have come across have been generous, hospitable and very nice people. Light years removed from the likes of Donald Trump grin
Frank L Croston.: Correct, Bill.
Great pic, Frank - isn't it amazing how some of those nice people can be Trump supporters!
Frank L Croston.: Thank you, Tom, indeed, much like we have supporters of parties I won't mention....

I can use the same words about my American friends, but they themselves feel rather unhappy in their split country considering Donald Trump, the Tea party, the gun discussion ...
Frank L Croston.: There are problems there, like anywhere, Philine, I agree.
Like Bill I have met quite a few Americans over the years and they all seemed very polite and friendly, I can just imagine this lot in the bar afterwards spending drinking time together. Brilliant picture BTW.
Frank L Croston.: Thank you, Brian. Only having stereotypes to judge by, I have been pleasantly surprised by the friendliness and politeness of everyone I have met on my visits.
This is a wonderful b&w photo of the comradery of the cowboys Frank... i'm glad that you met plenty of nice people during your stay....petersmile
Frank L Croston.: Oh, indeed I did, Peter. Thank you.
Welcome back Frank, a fine capture of the camaraderie (or cameraderie? smile ) you're alluding to here.
Frank L Croston.: Hey, Fred, good to hear from you. Thank you, we had a great day taking these, proving that there is no such thing as bad weather for taking pic's! smile
Great group portrait... of men and horses...
Frank L Croston.: Thank you, Larry.
