That is a good idea, like"L"plates in Australia.
Frank L Croston.: Good to warn people, Ray.

I assume they mean they are trying to cope with a proper gearbox smile I see a discerning driver on the other side of the lights; a Mazda 3 owner smile
Frank L Croston.: Correct, Alan...I thought Mazda made lightbulbs....?
I had the same problem the first time I drove an automatic.
Frank L Croston.: I find it so easy to drive auto' here now, but previously I had never driven one, I'll have to remember what to do when I get home....:-(
In France a large "A" (for Apprentice") sticker is used Frank! Great capture.
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Richard, always have the camera ready next to me....smile
reminds me of "if you can read this, you are way too close".
Frank L Croston.: You are right, Ayush, it does.
That's a good idea. It doesn't look very hilly so not so many worries. I remember learning stick and seeing a hill approach.
Frank L Croston.: It is, Mary, Flagstaff ? Not hilly? Ha, ha! smile
I also had the same problem as Bill, after driving for 40+ years I was suddenly given an automatic for the to take home for the weekend at work and didn't know where to start! Fortunately a quick call to the Fleet Manager sorted me out.
Frank L Croston.: I got two goes around a car park, then told to drive home, on the wrong side of the road! smile
It would be much better if they all learned how to use the manual drive to begin with - as we tend to in the UK smile Switching to auto is then a piece of cake smile
Frank L Croston.: Probably right, Tom, just that approx' 90% of cars are automatics here. I got two goes around a car park in an automatic, then go...On the right hand side of the road ! Now I worry about driving back home! smile
how cool it that... i remember when i learned to drive a stick shift... i rolled back some ten feet a few times when i was stopped on a hill for the first two days....petersmile
Frank L Croston.: When I did my advanced driving test, we had to do that in reverse, up an extremely steep hill, great fun! smile
