photoblog image Navajo bridge (s)

Navajo bridge (s)

Navajo bridge (s) Over the Colorado river,at Marble canyon Arizona . The one on the left is the original, now a footbridge, the right hand one is a road bridge, before the original was built in 1927 the only way across was by ferry, at Lees ferry, further up the river. The second bridge was opened in 1995. It's a far more spectacular place than this picture conveys.

You positioned yourself perfectly for this mirror (seeming) image! No pictures convey how spectacular the Colorado, or The Canyon are- but this is quite impressive!
Frank L Croston.: Thanks Elizabeth, it is hard to convey the majesty of this place, and just up the road you get pie! smile

Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Peter, yes, I liked how they replicated it.

Frank L Croston.: I'm glad about that then, Ray, it did me when I was there.

Frank L Croston.: Thanks very much, Richard.
What an amazing scene you have set before us. I would love to see the colour version to witness the various tones of Arizona too.
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Mary, I'll see what I can do.
The bridges are quite an attractive addition to the scene Frank. An awe inspiring part of the world
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Janet, indeed it is.
Well suited to b&w Frank. I imagine the views from the bridge are something!!
oh wow! this is a magnificent shot and the high contrast b/w works to the best effect, imo. bravo, Frank!
Very spectacular aren't they, I presume you walked across while you were there.
