On the road...

Amongst the highlights of our time together here were our numerous road trips. On the horizon is  Monument valley. A.Z. Utah,  a photo I have seen so many times in the past, but what a thrill to be taking it myself.

You did excellently, Frank.
Frank L Croston.: Thanks very much, Ray, I'm pleased you think so.

It must be wonderful to see this famous view for real Frank
Frank L Croston.: It is, Chris, I have so many bruises from pinching myself....smile
I have a feeling you saw many famous sights "for the first time," Frank, which makes all the difference in the world, I know! I really like the subtle tones of this one.
Frank L Croston.: Yes I have, Ginnie, and I don't think any have disappointed...Thanks, I'm glad you like it.

It was seeing a shot like this (but not as good, of course wink ) in one of the weekend travel supplements many years ago that made me want to visit it. I was not disappointed! I like your edit.
Frank L Croston.: I have seen it so many times, Alan, in so many places, I never dreamt I would see it for real..Thanks.

shame you didn't have one of those juggernauts bearing down on you
Frank L Croston.: They usually stick to the interstates, Richard, these roads can be really quiet.

And I am sure that none of those that you have seen, looks as good as this. A long straight road remains a phenomenon - over her when driving long straight roads, my wife and I make a game of guessing the distance to where the road vanishes. Stretches of road from 6 - 12 kms are quite common.
Frank L Croston.: I can't think of any, Louis...Long straight stretches like this are not unusual here, but there is not always a view like this at the end...
Yes, this is a famous location isn't it? This is a really good rendition. I love that one lone car.
Frank L Croston.: It is, Mary, it's strange, all of a sudden it all looks familiar to you, I had a few moments like that.I'm glad you like my version.
Awesome Dude. One day I might make it here.
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Michael, I hope you do, I could show you around...smile
I would rate this as the best ever shot shot I've seen of this particular, and popular, viewpoint. It is so much more than just a snapshot.
Frank L Croston.: What can I say to that, Brian, thank you so much.
Wow that's a magnificent road shot Frank. What an amazing sight.
Frank L Croston.: Thank you very much, Janet.
Excellent, Frank!
Frank L Croston.: Thank you, sir! smile

This is stunning, the sense of scale that car gives is amazing. It's almost surreal, it's hard to imagine the reality of it all
Frank L Croston.: Thank you, Anne, I have the same feeling myself, quite often...smile
a thrill indeed, with the blonde by your side even better Frank
Frank L Croston.: No doubt about that, Juan Carlos. smile

Great shot Dad. Could be an album cover or a film poster.
Probably something with Tommy Lee Jones in it.
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Tom, I think Ry Cooder has an album cover like it....I'll mention it to Tommy Lee...smile
See you next week.
i can sure imagine your thrill Frank, great shot here and nice view down the road
Frank L Croston.: Thanks Ayush, it was great, I'm glad you like it.
