photoblog image The three sisters.

The three sisters.

Monument valley, A.Z./ Utah. U.S.A.

So called, I'm told, because they look like a Nun teaching two novices.

Right...I am sure that was exactly what Nature had in mind when doing its thing with heat, wind and water... smile

Fine shot, Frank.
Frank L Croston.: Much like what I thought, Ray....Thanks.

i think that the name suits them Frank... i like your treatment it adds a nice dimension to the sky....petersmile
Frank L Croston.: Me too, Peter, thanks very much.
I kinda like the name... smile
And I REALLY like the photo - I think you did a good job of showing of their forms!
Frank L Croston.: It fits when you see them at the right angle, Elizabeth, thank you.

at first I thought that these were finger salutes
Frank L Croston.: You are probably more used to seeing those, Richard. smile
I suppose they are being taught that above them god is writing in the sky with chalk and that when we here big rumbles in the sky, then god is bowling. Excellent shot by the way,
Frank L Croston.: Could be, Mary, thank you.

It certainly looks that way in this light. I can see the habit of the nun. I wonder if she is is warning the others about the wrongs of trying to fly through the air in a big metal tube? wink
Frank L Croston.: Probably, Alan... But quicker than getting here in a big metal tub...smile
brilliantly done! and really does look like a trio deep in discussion
Frank L Croston.: Thank you, Ayush, they have to be seen from the right angle, I thought it just meant sisters, not Nuns.
I've heard of these but not seen them before.
Frank L Croston.: I have posted a shot of them before, but they had horses in front of them.
Looks like a giant W to me Frank
Frank L Croston.: WWWhat?
Mmm - the early settlers must have had vivid imaginations!
Frank L Croston.: They must have walked around a bit as well, Tom, because you only get this view from one point! smile
Great pictures this series Frank!
Frank L Croston.: Thanks very much, Juan Carlos.
