That's the name of the effect, when rain evaporates before it hits the ground....

Some Arizona landscapes ( and skies) this week. Looking again, mostly skies...

Fabulous, just fabulous. Can you imagine that this happens in the Netherlands, no more flooding.
What a great picture.
Frank L Croston.: Thank you very much, Astrid....That would be good! Have a safe journey home.

I guess a lot of the time, the inhabitants would rather it rained, Frank. But what a gorgeous picture you have created here
Frank L Croston.: Yes they would, Elisabeth, it's funny, I can't get used to people wanting it to rain! Thanks very much.

You sure know how to process a sky, Frank. Fabulous!
Frank L Croston.: That's very nice of you, Mary, thank you.
Marvelous shot Frank. The land is looking calm and serene under the turbulence above

That is incredible, what an amazing sky. I don't think I have ever seen trees scattered throughout the fields like that
Frank L Croston.: One thing you are sure of here is great skies, Anne. It's more of a prairie than a field.
This is a phenomenon I've not seen before, great picture of it happening.
Frank L Croston.: Ha, and you are not likely to see it in the U.K. Brian. smile Thanks, it is pretty common here.
