Undulations...unlike your other place which is more cracks and crevasses...

I am enjoying your depiction of both, Frank.
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Ray,they are all good. smile
I do like the green and grey effect, Frank.
Frank L Croston.: You do tend to get that in the Lakes, Graeme...smile
A beautiful view, Frank! I love how you seem to be standing in the sunshine - looking out at the rain!
Frank L Croston.: I was, thinking that will be here soon...smileThanks, Elizabeth.
That sky looks so moody .....love all the greens ..great picture frank
Frank L Croston.: Thanks,Shane.

Such a green & precipitous landscape. Do you ever pine for it when you're in Arizona?
Frank L Croston.: Errr,No...

Beautiful Cumbria - and a wonderful photograph! To be honest, nothing can beat this "green and pleasant land"!
Frank L Croston.: You would have to go a long way,Philine,it has a unique beauty, thank you.

Well, one could say Arizona has nothing on you, Frank. But then, I guess the opposite could also be said? It would really be fascinating to compare and contrast the two!
Frank L Croston.: They each have their own beauty, Ginnie, the thing about the Lakes is it is all in such a small area, compared to Arizona,it' a 'the whole is greater than the sum of the parts', thing,Whichever one I'm in,I enjoy.Did that make any sense? smile

Beautiful scene
Frank L Croston.: Thank you.
I am guessing hause does not mean house as I can not find one in this beautiful shot. Spectacular scene!
Frank L Croston.: I looked this up,Mary, but can't find a definite answer,I know it as a gap between two fells,as you see where the path goes, that is Boredale hause. There are lots of words in Cumbria that are unique to the area,a lot of it is norse, from the Viking days, many of whom settled here,so fjell, for hill, became, fell,Alan will probably put me right on this...smile

All so very different for the landscape in SW USA. I always think Boredale Hause is such an odd name; I keep expecting to find some sort of building there (a cafe would be REALLY nice smile )
Frank L Croston.: It would be handy, Alan, there is a ruin of an old chapel there,if I remember correctly,as you say,so different, but even here you get extremes, from desert, to forest.
A fine shot of the green, green grass of home Frank.
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Brian,I'm not pining yet...smile
Well you won't be getting views like this in the jailhouse you are in, look on the bright side at least you won't have to eat Ellie's cooking.
Frank L Croston.: You have to hope she doesn't read this...She punches above her weight! My cellmate, Bubba, says hello...smile
A lovely lanscape!
Frank L Croston.: That it is, Aderonke, thanks.
A perfect getaway Frank!
Frank L Croston.: There is a one time, royal hunting lodge in Martindale, you can rent it now, only one way into the valley,no through traffic, lovely place.
There is so much to look at in this image Frank...
atmosphere... light... shadows... rain and rolling hills... nicely done....petersmile
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Peter,it was all there that day...smile

I can't remember how long ago it was that I walked the line to have a good ridge walk. Memories memories.
Frank L Croston.: Get back up there, Richard, they must have forgotten you by now! smile
Another glorious landscape, Frank - so different from Arizona!
