Here it is, Delicate arch, with the snow capped La- Sal mountains, part of the Rockies, in the distance. The two figures on the left give you an idea of its size.

It is spectacular, Frank.
Frank L Croston.: Isn't it, Ray, well worth the hike to see it.
Beautiful shot Frank!!! I'm glad all the little tourists and their flip-flops got out of the way for a few minutes! A couple mellow hikers don't bother me - they fit in well, actually!
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Elizabeth, and thanks for being patient with me,as I gasped my way up too see it...smile
terrific image. love the warm glow of the rock, set off nicely against the blue sky (ohh smile ). nice rugged background as well
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Ayush, much appreciated.

Monumental, Frank
Frank L Croston.: Truly,Elisabeth, truly.
Gate way to the Rockies.
Frank L Croston.: Except if you go through the gateway,it's almost a sheer drop for quite a way,Michael.

Yeeess! Just as I thought! It looks much quieter than when I was there. The other photographers were pleading with people to keep out of the Arch to get "the" shot as time and time again more crazy tourists would want to stand in the archway. I'll post my version "soon"-ish.
Frank L Croston.: Don't be fooled,Alan, this was a rare 'empty moment', there was a bunch of young Japanese tourists who were hogging it most of the time.

I often saw this famous arch, but this is the best photo I ever saw - with the snowy mountains in the background. I wonder that there are so few tourists.
Frank L Croston.: Thank you,Philine, that's very nice of you,oh they were there, lots of them,I just had to be patient to get this shot with only two of them, and they helped to give it scale.
That is magnificent Frank, nature's wonder and your photograph of it.
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Brian, aren't I the lucky one ? smile

I bet the American Government had this built.
Frank L Croston.: If they did, they closed it for three weeks previously....
An amazing place, for sure...
Frank L Croston.: Oh yes, Larry.
Geology...

Reminds me of my Grad school field trip to Utah..

I swear we came to this same spot
Frank L Croston.: I would be surprised if you didn't,Preyi. smile

Frank, your trip was well worth it. I know it was not easy, but the reward was big.
Absolute fabulous shot and those hikers fit well in the picture.
Frank L Croston.: Thanks,Astrid, not many good things are easy. smile
Nice shot Frank, reminds me of some of the shots my daughter took when she went on a Trek America trip to the California, Arizona and the national parks.
Frank L Croston.: I'm sure she visited here then, John, a wonderful place.
Pretty stunning!
Frank L Croston.: That about sums it up, Tom.
