What a [starkly] beautiful place this is, and your image is wonderful, Frank.
Frank L Croston.: Thank you Ray, much appreciated, it was starkly cold !
Lovely, Frank! I like the point of view you've chosen!
Frank L Croston.: Thank you Elizabeth, I think it was the one out of the wind ! smile

It looks a fine and bracing place to be Frank. A delightful composition
Frank L Croston.: If by bracing you mean b****y freezing, with a wind so cold I couldn't see through the viewfinder for my eyes watering ! Then yes, Chris. Thank you. smile
I have a feeling this is a "famous" tree, Frank, and maybe even has a name? It reminds me of a tree in Monterrey, CA, that is so famous it has pendants made of it (one of which my past MIL wore).
Frank L Croston.: It maybe Ginnie, it certainly draws the eye.

What a contrast to the Lake District, Frank
Frank L Croston.: Actually in some respects it is similar Elisabeth, except for Bald Eagles, Mountain sheep, herds of Elk and deer...smile
Wonderful crisp clear light that you rarely get here Frank
Frank L Croston.: Quite right Bill, its almost guaranteed.

Looks like the tide is out Frank.
Frank L Croston.: Looks that way, 'cept its ice and snow Andrew...smile
A beautiful image Frank, mountains, frozen lake and a terrific lone tree, what more could one want for a picture.
Frank L Croston.: A bit less wind ! I could hardly see what I was doing due to my eyes running ! Thank you Brian.
Lovely and warm enough that the water is not frozen solid! What a great portrait of the tree.
Frank L Croston.: You are joking ! It was way below freezing ! And blowing! Thanks Care.
Looks a harsh and yet beautiful landscape, Frank! Great composition smile
Frank L Croston.: It was harsh that day Martin, windy and well below freezing. It is a lovely place though.
Thanks very much.
Fine composition... Makes me wish I had the money to travel...
Frank L Croston.: Thanks Larry, this was actually taken on a work trip, for Elizabeth at least, I just have to fill in a few hours of spare time, such a chore smile
