A wonderful, albeit cold, scene, Frank.
Frank L Croston.: Thank you Ray, it was all those things that day.
En effet, il devait faire très froid.
Frank L Croston.: It certainly was Martine, even after warming up on the climb. smile
Isn't it great that one can "see" how cold it is because of your wonderful image?!
Frank L Croston.: Oh it was cold alright ! Even after a steep climb to warm up with. Thank you Elizabeth, you would have loved it up there. smile

This would make a good cover for a "strenuous walking" book, Frank
Frank L Croston.: A mere stroll Elisabeth....smile

Yes this looks cold alright Frank, but the sense of achievement..
Frank L Croston.: Oh it was cold Chris, but as you say, well worth the effort.

Love the light in this. I've never been Blencathra; I must sort that out one day.
Frank L Croston.: It was a bit special that day, its a great walk, plus the bonus of Sharp edge, I have some pics of that to come.
Wouah ...Magnifique !!
Frank L Croston.: Thanks very much Claudine.

and you both did climb up this mountain? A great image with this wintery light!
Frank L Croston.: I hadn't met Elizabeth back then Philine, I was on my own that day. Thank you.
I like this very much Frank
Frank L Croston.: I'm pleased you do Bill, I have good memories of it.

If it wasn’t for the background landscape Frank I’d have thought you had landed on an asteroid.
Frank L Croston.: It was a low flying one Andrew....smile
Very atmospheric! Would make a good inspirational poster.
Frank L Croston.: It was,Care, I'm always open to offers...smile
Great light once again Frank, we've seen Blencathra from a distance but not been up it.
Frank L Croston.: It was Brian, its a great place with a lovely name I think.
Looks a bit nippy up there - hope you had your thermals on!
Frank L Croston.: Every one of them Tom !
Ah, yes. We stayed for a week in Threlkeld and an intended ascent of Blencathra from the back door was the aim of the regular morning dogwalk. Sadly the dog, being idle, thwarted my daily attempts on the summit in favour of breakfast, but I did manage some nice misty pics from just above the intake walls! (Traditionalists will be pleased at your choice of Blencathra over Saddleback!)
Frank L Croston.: Having done it a couple of times maybe your dog was a good judge Graeme smile
I wouldn't dream of using its other name ! Blencathra, along with Glaramara is one of my favourite fell names.
