Great title and wonderful find! I like the composition!
Frank L Croston.: Thank you Elizabeth, I presume it was snow that caused this.
Une prise de vue très originale !
Frank L Croston.: Thank you Claudine.

Well this is different Frank!
Frank L Croston.: Indeed Chris, saw them high in the White mountains in Arizona. New growth trees bent by the weight of snow on them.

What does that mean, please, Frank?
Frank L Croston.: Well I made the name up Elisabeth, they are young trees bent over to this shape by snow.

Snow is pretty heavy stuff Frank, but so is water.
Frank L Croston.: Well, yes Andrew...
What are snow bows?
Frank L Croston.: I made the name up, they are young trees bowed by the weight of snow on them.

Freshly bowed, they can make a a good igloo during snow times.
Frank L Croston.: I bet they can, but I'll give it a miss Louis. smile
I like your clever name. Some winters leave these everywhere! Some on my pond made great backdrops for photos years and years ago.
Frank L Croston.: Thank you Mary, I suppose, like these it depends if they are protected from the wind.
I wonder if they ever manage to grow back straight up.
Frank L Croston.: I don't know Brian, I suppose its possible as they get stronger, this would explain some of the shapes you see in some trees.
i get one or two of these across my driveway Frank... but i have never seen that many... it's a great photo....petersmile
Frank L Croston.: Thanks Peter, they were in a hollow, so I assume the wind doesn't clear the snow of them.
I guessed that's what had happened and then I saw your title! A lovely shot Frank smile
Frank L Croston.: Thank you Martin.
