When I was younger I disliked these cars, but now I love 'em.

And, I love this image, too.

I can remember seeing these oversized cars on the road back in the day, Frank. Enjoy your travels!
Frank L Croston.: They were rare over here, though I remember a group who were in a show near to us having a huge convertible , at the age of 10 I was hugely impressed by it.
There's either a big engine under that bonnet or lots of room. Have a comfortable and safe journey Frank.
Frank L Croston.: I find its usually both Brian. Thank you, comfort is extra smile

Two primed rocket launchers on the bonnet. The US citizens was more paranoid in those days - you may remember there was a lot of talk about aliens, A-bomb testing and such, when this one cruised the highways.

I didn't like these old US cars, because of their soft suspensions, causing them to sway and lurch any which way, especially with their enormous mass. The more sporty editions, like Studebaker, were somewhat better.

Great picture.
Frank L Croston.: Thanks Louis, they were/are big beasts, and as you say, awful suspension on most.
those headlights, for me, are synonymous with all/most such American autos, Frank. wonderful shot.
Frank L Croston.: BIG lamps Ayush, thank you.
I'm a sucker for these old timers, Frank. Well done. And welcome back to home sweet home!
Frank L Croston.: Me too Ginnie, thank you.
