Oh my! Look at the backlighting on those wings. She's working so hard!
Frank L Croston.: So lucky to be in the right place for this shot, Bonnie, yes indeed.
Excellent, Frank! Perfect shutter speed... and the lighting is so great! I love the position of the feet!
Frank L Croston.: Thank you, Elizabeth, everything worked for once! smile

Both feet just off the ground, or water in this case - a real power-machine isn't it
Frank L Croston.: They certainly have some power as you say, Chris.
Bob on Frank.
Frank L Croston.: Cheers, Bud.
Never mind Frank, they are still very enjoyable and this is my favourite.
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Andrew, I'm glad you like it.

Bounce...bounce...bounce...lift-off...

A wonderful event to observe, Frank.
Frank L Croston.: It was great, Ray, I enjoyed getting these shots very much, especially as I got them right for once!
Very nicely done, Frank. They need along runway with their back heavy bodies.
Frank L Croston.: Thank you, Mary, they are not the most ergonomic of birds.
Don't worry about the order Frank, it's a great shot whatever the order.
Frank L Croston.: Thank you, Brian.

You managed to get a lot of things working for you in this picture. Most of all is that you have good focus on an oncoming object.
Frank L Croston.: Right place, right time, Louis, and luckily ready to shoot!

Brilliant, you can feel the effort it is making to get itself airborne.
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Anne, they do give it their all.
Watching a swan run on water as it takes off is one of the great sights in nature.
Frank L Croston.: I have to agree with you there, Bill.
They do put a heck of a lot of effort into it, don't they!
Frank L Croston.: They certainly do, Tom.
What a fine series of splashes...
Frank L Croston.: Indeed, Larry, thanks.
