[Caution...Aussie compliment-through-understatement follows...]

My experience of Grand Canyon is that it is very difficult to depict its grandeur in a picture, Frank...however, you seem to make a pretty good fist of it, time after time.
Frank L Croston.: Ha,ha...I completely agree with you Ray, it is so difficult, I'm flattered you think I manage it, thank you, it is much appreciated
This is like a painting, Frank! Wonderful depth!
Frank L Croston.: Thank you, Elizabeth.
This gives us an entirely different concept of the grandeur of the canyon Frank... this image adds a certain mystery to it....petersmile
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Peter, I'm glad you like it...The mystery is how I ended up taking photo's of it....smile
Amazing how B&W can change the scene
Frank L Croston.: Indeed it can, Chantal, colour can distract.
You've given such a wonderful depth to this beautiful image Frank!
Frank L Croston.: Thank you very much, Richard.
Interesting to see the canyon in greyscale Frank.
Frank L Croston.: Thank you, Andrew.
The diagonal composition sets this scene very nicely. Excellent photograph, Frank.
Frank L Croston.: Thank you very much, Mary.

The contrast of the near canyon side against the background is really great.
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Louis, I'm glad you think so.
I wish I'd have had this one when I showed some SC pictures at my club last autumn, this is quite one of the very best images you've ever posted on SC., the complete difference in tones really gives it some depth.
Frank L Croston.: That's very nice of you to say, Brian, I was trying to emulate some Japanese landscape prints I had seen, I didn't want colour to detract.
This is a class act Frank. B&W beautifully executed
Frank L Croston.: Well thanks, Bill, much appreciated.

It beats me how you get this feeling of perspective
Frank L Croston.: It's the place, Elisabeth...smile
