Masterful!
Frank L Croston.: Thank you, Ray.
Great shot, Frank! With that steam & the low clouds beyond... This certainly shows how chilly it was that day! Those Aspens always brighten the landscape!
Frank L Croston.: Always, Elizabeth, it was cold, it chilled the bones! smile
But the "nasty day" part contributes to how fabulous this image is, Frank!
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Ginnie, suffering for my art smile

La fumée rappelle les nuages qui sont dans le fond.
Frank L Croston.: They do, but warmer, Martine! smile

This is my favourite Frank, and I haven't seen them all. I just love the way that the engine is bursting into view from the left.
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Andrew, I'm pleased you like it. smile
Very good Frank.
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Bill, bit different from the Severn valley!
Your treatment show the weather very well.
Frank L Croston.: It was raining, and very cold, Mary, in fact it rained so hard they almost cancelled the trains.
I like this, especially the lovely background despite the weather. Their locos seem to be built without appearance being one of the first requirements.
Frank L Croston.: I was thinking about that myself, Brian, quite a difference from some of our loco's. They only ones like it I think are the war department ones built for use in the second world war,( dub d's we used to call them ) they had no frills at all, I used to quite like them. Thanks.

The Aspens trees give some fine colour to the greyness.
Frank L Croston.: Yes, they do, Philine, it was much needed!

Te Wild West at its wildest. I have fond memories of those few days in Durango despite the rain on the day of the train.
Frank L Croston.: It was a fun trip,Alan, mostly, the rain was quite something!
you got a lot of picture for a nasty day in Autumn Frank... love the old locomotive....petersmile
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Peter, I enjoyed taking pic's, if not the weather. A great old loco.
Terrific shot, Frank, showing what can be done on a bad weather day!
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Tom, got to take what you have!
