photoblog image Heading out!

Heading out!

...Of Silverton Colorado. This engine had the loudest whistle I have ever heard, the fireman warned us to stand back before he blew it, even so it was actually painful! A few railroad/railway pic's this week.

That fireman looks blown down by the whistle. As outsider, I hardly associate the US with locomotives like this old steam model. Great pic.
Frank L Croston.: He will have hearing problems if he suffers that very often. I have seen a few old ones like this, not many working though. Thanks, Louis.
Excellent image Frank. The uSA locos seemt o have very large cabs, or whatever they call them. Shame you couldn't capture the whistle for us to hear.
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Brian, you might see more of the cab tomorrow, you would need ear defenders for that whistle!
Great shot of a wonderful beast
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Bill...Beast is right!
Ohhh. He'd love a copy of this, Frank!
Frank L Croston.: I'm sure he sees plenty of photos of himself, Ginnie. Thanks.

Oh, what a machine or lady, she is really putting some oomph into it!
Frank L Croston.: Indeed it was, quite deafening, Philine.
Great image, Frank
Frank L Croston.: Thanks, Tom.
