No homeless here, Frank...just folks having a camping experience...

sad
Frank L Croston.: Saw lots of this, Ray, some without tents, we were told that efforts were made to house lots of these people but the help was declined, for various reasons....

Quelle tristesse de devoir dormir dans la rue.
Frank L Croston.: Very sad indeed, Martine.

I used to volunteer in the local Night Shelter, and many clients would only come in when the weather was very bad, and did not want to be helped to accommodation
Frank L Croston.: That was good of you, Elisabeth, I suppose to some people it is a way of life, we see it here, some of them quite young.
I ha e not seen actual tents used before.
Frank L Croston.: Me either, Andrew, I don't know if they are donated, its possible.

Sad isn't it, but this is a universal problem Frank. Even here in prosperous Bath we have our fair share of this sort of thing
Frank L Croston.: It is, Chris, we see it here in Flagstaff, but not on this scale.
I fear that homelessness here will increase in the coming years
Frank L Croston.: I read that there are 44,000 homeless in Los Angeles, an increase of 85% in the past two years.
I love Randy Newman. People go out west trying not to freeze for one thing.Lots of reasons but climate is a chief one.
Frank L Croston.: I've always liked him, such a great songwriter. The West has always been 'the destination' in the U.S.A. I suppose.
it would be interesting to know what are the reasons offered for declining accommodation, Frank.
Frank L Croston.: I would imagine a lot of them don't want to be in 'the system', Ayush.

What a sad sign of the times Frank.
Frank L Croston.: I was quite shocked at how much of this we saw, lots of tents, also makeshift shelters.
this is sad to see in LA Frank... when there are so many refugees around the world...
the problem with street people is that they can't go into shelters high or drunk... so often it is their choice....petersmile
Frank L Croston.: Its sad to see anywhere, Peter, as you say. Thats what a taxi driver told us, he said a lot of them don't want housing due to the restrictions that puts on them....
