photoblog image I - 405

I - 405

We spent last weekend in Los Angeles. So here are a few shots of the many I took there, its quite a place, so many iconic places. This is not the best of shots, taken whilst landing at L.A.X. South Western's windows are cleaner than B. A.'s though...I-405 Los Angeles, 20 odd lanes!

Cette route est impressionnante par sa largeur.
Frank L Croston.: Amazing eh, Martine!

Looking for a Pretty Woman?
Frank L Croston.: Nope! Got one!
Great shot! Good thing WE didn't have to do the driving, eh?! smile
Frank L Croston.: Thank you, Ell', good of the pilot to stop for a moment....No problem, I've driven the M60 at 8 in the morning smile

And all going more slowly than on our motorways, Frank?
Frank L Croston.: Probably, Elisabeth, the speed limit changes a lot here, often on the same road, it can be confusing.

Heavens above - just look at the SIZE of that highway down thee Frank!
Frank L Croston.: Amazing eh, Chris...
That road would cover Droitwich!
Frank L Croston.: I'm saying nothing....smile

In this aspect America is really first.
Frank L Croston.: Probably, Philine.
This reminds me of Scaletrix Frank, on a bigger scale of course.
Frank L Croston.: Just slightly, Andrew...smile
You got to get a bit of culture shock, I'm sure. Love the video.
Frank L Croston.: Oh yes indeed, Mary, after leaving our little village! Glad you like the video, tomorrow is better, get a coffee, sit down and enjoy it, an all time fave' of mine! smile

Good grief! Not my idea of driving fun at all!
Frank L Croston.: Its more a case of survival, Anne, Lancaster's one way system pales into insignificance! smile

You won't believe this, but an almost identical shot has just been on my Iplayer film "Woman in Gold" - I recognised it instantly from yours
Frank L Croston.: Cue 'X files' music.....smile
I've driven down LA's freeways - not something I would now care to repeat!
Frank L Croston.: I've driven Phoenix freeways, I thought that was bad enough!
this reminds me of the approach to Toronto's international airport... it follows HWY 401 on landing....petersmile
Frank L Croston.: I suppose the two go together, highways and airports, Peter.
The Freeway IS Los Angeles!
Frank L Croston.: Its nearly as big, Larry! smile
